Description

Located in central North Island on a volcanic plateau is the Taupo area and Taupo Ika Nui. The resort is situated on the shores of Lake Taupo, New Zealand's largest lake. As a backdrop, the mountain ranges of Tongariro National Park, Ruapehu, Ngauruhoe and Kaimanawa add beauty and skiing availability to the area. The ski fields are just an hour and a half away. The region boasts many activities, including golf, lawn bowling, rugby, squash, tennis, fishing, boating and hunting. For the more adventurous try whitewater rafting, windsurfing and waterskiing.

The units are airconditioned and feature atelephone, kitchen and some have views from the terraces. Laundry facilities are centrally located (fee charged). 1BR units OCC: Max 4/Pri 2 have 1 double or 2 twin beds in the master bedroom, 1 double sleep sofa and 1 bathroom. 2 BR units Occ: Max 6/Pri 4 have a queen size bed in the master bedroom with ensuite facility, 2 single beds in the second bedroom, 1 double pull out sofa and 1 bathroom. It is imperative that you telephone the resort if you are a late arrival to be advised how to locate your unit key. Security gates prevent admissionwhen reception closes on Saturday at 6pm and Sunday from noon, weekdays 5pm. As the security code changes weekly it is not feasible for guests to send an e mail or leave a message on the answer phone. Contact to the resort must be voice contact only. If the Armourgard Security firm has to be called for key collection there is a $25 fee paid by the guest. The security box is to the left of the main gate.

Directions

The nearest international airport is in Auckland, an approximate 3 and 1/2 hour drive from Taupo. Maps and directions may be obtained from your car hire company. From Auckland take highway south to Taupo,go through the main street where highway 1turns into Lake Terrace. The resort is about 500m on the left.
